Baronian is delighted to announce a solo exhibition showing works by Eric Duyckaerts.

Eric Duyckaerts, born in Liège in 1953 and died in 2019 in Bordeaux, was a contemporary Belgian artist. After studying philosophy and law, he eventually found his way into contemporary art. In 1980, he co-founded the Liège-based artists’ collective Groupov. Groupov explores the potential of theater, inspired by Fluxus, Happenings, Black Mountain College and Julian Beck’s Living Theater.

His work consists of performances, videos and drawings as well as installations. His works are rooted in his desire to sabotage the current discourse on art. They respond to formal logics: games with letters, numbers and typographical signs that invite the visitor to a playful, jubilant experience of thought.
