Albert Baronian is pleased to announce the first exhibition of Marcel Broodthaers at the gallery.
Developed the mental conception of art through his work, his matrix being the works of Duchamp. His mental inclination moved more towards imagination, irony, subtlety and literary taste, revisiting the mythical sites of culture and inventing imaginary situations. He used any media – films, slides, maps, exercise-books and environments – for his fanciful elaborations and the light play of his intelligence.[1]
We are delighted to propose a selection of works from the well-known Belgian artist : Marcel Broodthaers. The works will include the master piece « Le Perroquet. Ne dites pas que je ne l’ai pas dit. »; as well as The Complete Prints and Books and other works rarely seen in exhibitions.
Last spring the Museum of Modern Art of New York devoted an major retrospective to his work. The Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid will also dedicate an exhibition to him in October 2016.
