Jean-François Lacalmontie’s drawings seem complex, full of different shapes. These drawings can be seen as ‘automatic drawings’: lines, words and forms that refer to daily life and nature move freely over the paper. At the same time, Lacalmontie leaves a lot of space for the interpretation of the spectator. He creates a cryptic and almost poetic universe in his works.
