Gallery Baronian in Knokke is pleased to announce a new exhibition by Charles-Henry Sommelette. For this exhibition, the Belgian artist is showcasing a new series of artworks in black and white as well as colourful landscapes.

Born in 1984 in Liège, Charles-Henry Sommelette is a master of intimacy and silence. The Belgian artist captures on paper and on canvas the frozen moment of gardens and country lanes deserted of any human presence. In these landscapes, time is suspended, everything is calm, at a standstill, reminiscent of the photographic shot in which the vanishing point is unique.

Although Sommelette has always drawn winter landscapes, this time he has chosen to focus specifically on this kind of landscape. He wanted to dedicate himself to the ongoing and long-term observation of the gradually disappearing snow-covered landscapes of his youth in Barvaux, where the artist lives and works.
